2012 World Cup

The most important alpine competition circuit in the world

The Alpine Ski World Cup is the most important international competition circuit in the world along with the Winter Olympic Games and the World Alpine Ski Championships. The circuit is staged annually and has a calendar of men’s and women’s races. Moreover, competitors are required to be highly multifaceted and regular.

This season, the Alpine Ski World Cup Women  will be held from 22nd October 2011 to 18th March 2012, organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The 2011/12 calendar will open in Soelden (Austria) and the World Cup final will take place in the Austrian town of Schladming. During this period, the racers will compete at 21 skiable domains, the most prestigious in the world, with the aim of achieving the highest score in five disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill and super-combined.

On 10th, 11th and 12th February 2012, Grandvalira-Soldeu will hold three races of the Alpine Ski World Cup Women on the mythic Avet competition slope. It will be the 15th skiable domain to host the most important alpine ski circuit competition in the world.
