French skier Tessa Worley, winner of the last Giant Slalom in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia), has taken the first run of Sunday’s Giant Slalom World Cup race in Grandvalira - Soldeu. Probably much to the dislike of Viktoria Rebensburg who dropped out after a big mistake, Worley marked a time of 1:10:37 on the Avet slope, a course that demanded highest attention and skills in order to make it through the 48 gates successfully. A fact that was underlined by 11 athletes that were unable to complete the track set by the Slovenian coach Livio Magoni. Italy's Manuela Moelgg currently ranks second (+0.13) and Germany's Maria Hoefel- Riesch came in third (+0.37). Lindsey Vonn, who opened today’s race is currently ranked 13th and requires a way better 2nd run in order to climb the podium. La segunda manga se prevé muy ajustada, las especialistas en Gigante lucharán para conseguir la victoria del primer Gigante de la historia de la Copa del Mundo de Grandvalira-Soldeu2012. Since the differences are little a very exciting and tight second run can be expected between the specialists fighting for victory in the first Giant Slalom to be ever held in Andorra. The top five ranked after the first run: 1 - Tessa Worley, FRA 01:10.37 2 - Manuela Moelegg, ITA 01:10.50 3 - Maria Hoefler-Riesch, GER 01:10.74 4 - Tina Maze, SLO 01:10.79 5 - Elisabeth Goergl, AUT 01:10.99 ]]>
